Peanut Sauce
Recipe
9 servings
We wish we could say that this spicy Peanut Sauce Recipe is fat
free. It is not! But is a reasonable low calorie substitute for the
typical high fat peanut sauce. Serve it cold on a noodle salad
or
hot over cooked vegetables and rice.
3/8 oz
cornstarch
1/2 oz minced
garlic
1 1/2 oz
smooth natural peanut butter
1 1/2 oz
agave nectar
1 1/2 oz
reduced sodium soy sauce
2 1/2 oz rice
vinegar
12 oz water
1/2 tsp
crushed red peppers
1/4 tsp
ground ginger
1/4 tsp
sesame oil
In a small non stick sauce pan, weigh
cornstarch, minced garlic,
peanut butter, agave nectar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and water.
Remove from scale and add crushed red peppers and ground ginger. Mix
with a nylon whisk until the cornstarch dissolves.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat immediately.
Stir in sesame oil. Serve hot or refrigerate to chill.
Comments:
This dressing will keep for at least a week in the refrigerator. Be
sure to use a natural peanut butter that does not
contain partially hydrogenated oil.
